VigRX, along with Enzyte, is one of the early male enhancement supplements that helped spark the “male enhancement supplement boom.” In 2001, VigRX helped set the “Gold Standard” for male enhancement products. Even back then VigRX promised better erections, increased sex drive and stamina, enhanced orgasms, and an end to premature ejaculations. But has VigRX rested on its success and let other product pass it by?

Claims and Components

The VigRX male enhancement formula is similar to Enzyte’s (probably no coincident there the two products were released within months of each other). Both feature Asian Red Ginseng, Catuaba, Epimedium, Ginkgo Biloba, Hawthorn Berry, Muira Puama, and Saw Palmetto Berry. The “precise blending” of these ingredients is where VigRX’s may now be falling short. But unlike the original Enzyte, VigRX does not contain L-arginine, Tribulus Terrestris, and Yohimbe – three effective ingredients although as we continue to point out to our readers Yohimbe has been know to cause sever side effects.

The Good

• Manufacturer is a known producer of sexual enhancement products and has been around since 2001
• Doctor endorsed (although no credential are made available for the doctor)

The Bad

• Does not contain L-arginine, Tribulus Terrestris
• Overpriced despite having a standard formula
• Company seems to have been a hurt by its own success

The Verdict

As we said, VigRX does deserve credit for helping bring this industry to the forefront. But like other brands that were top sellers 10 years ago like Extenze and Enzyte, VigRX and VigRX plus (similar formula as VigRX with different name) seem to have forgotten that when something is good others will come along and produce a better product. That is now clearly the case with male enhancement supplements.

There are now more effective and faster working products on the market and we would recommend that VigRX and VigRX Plus spend more of their advertising budget on a new product formulation so they can again get back to the top of the list of best selling products. But for now we recommend other newer products that have refined their formulas and are now leading the industry and outperforming the VigRX products.
